When someone drives across the desert, they hear the rustling of leaves in the wind.

奉诏甘泉宫，总征天下兵。
朝廷备礼出，郡国豫郊迎。
纷纷几万人，去者无全生。
A king goes to the shrine of the leader and calls on his father, then goes to the capital to pay his respects.
The state gathers representatives in its capital and sends them across the sea.
其四
边头何惨惨，已葬霍将军。
部曲皆相吊，燕南代北闻。
To die here, they die in this land.
They died at the edge of the frontier, and now they are gone into the mountains below.
其五
功勋多被黜，兵马亦寻分。
更遣黄龙戍，唯当哭塞云。
The knight who deserves honor is being tried, but his forces cannot find a solution.
They called on someone with a different background to help them.
其六
缑峰信所克，济北余乃遂。
齐物意已会，息肩理犹未。
To honor their father, the people at Sanya place him in a position of honor and responsibility.
Their sons have taken on a new role with the same goals.

盈缩理无余，今往何必忧。
郴土群山高，耆老如中州。
For there is no surplus beyond today, people don't need to worry about what's going on in the future.
The mountains are high and the people are old.

冰时飞孤舟，风湍成阻修。
野人善竹器，童子能溪讴。
A man who is coldly frozen flies away into the night.
For he cannot find peace when he is on land.

通通变今古，盈缩理无余。
湖北其莫同家，城西亦莫同游。
To change one thing forever, people will always keep changing other things.
The same goes for those in the neighboring cities and counties.

送郭司仓。
映门淮水绿，留骑主人心。
To send a message from the state of the military through the county roads, a horse is riding along the road with its rider.

明月随良掾，春潮夜夜深。
大漠风尘日色昏，红旗半卷出辕门。
When someone takes his wife to sleep in the county roads, the stars fall on her while she sleeps in her household.
The sea becomes dark and day is longen.
十二
百战秋月团，金甲破城关。
黄沙百战穿金甲，不破楼兰终不还。
To defeat a hundred men in the battle, they wear their soldiers' swords and go to the county roads.
Their victory leaves them breaking through the wall of the city and forever losing their places.

玉门山嶂几千重，山北山南总是烽。
乱入池中看不见，闻歌始觉有人来。
To look at the mountains, they are so tall with no less than a thousand peaks.
The winds from the mountains sweep through all of China.

孤舟微月对枫林，分付鸣筝与客心。
